the day the kids were out at night

not so long ago, school kids were very much into boy bands and britney pretenders. not so long ago, you hardly see a rock band setting foot on the Philippines to stage a show. time flies and the pop globe turned around to make emo punk as the genre of choice for most school kids. this phenom lifted the chris carrabbas and pete wentzs into stardom slash rock stars of this young generation. two nights of fall out boy at the araneta coliseum seemed so impossible but it happened. and judging by the number of parents going with their kids (yes kids...elementary and high school kids) to watch definitely made this tour score a lot. it was an entertaining night because of these kids who knew every single word of every single song except covers which separated the young crowd from the old spies in the arena (that includes me) who sang along more on the michale jackson and green day covers.

despite the excitement from all these, the only failure was the band itself. not lacking in energy but in the talent to sing live an original song. blame it on the band or the crew but it was disappointing set.

the kids were out, and i'm out just as well.
