my iron lung

watching the past few weeks of rockstar supernova made me realize how great the first batch of rockers were. this new batch really lacked the spunk and the "ka-astigan" of their predecessors. i can see a few flashes of brilliance here and there but nothing really that made my hair stand up. and then came yesterday's elimination show were patrice was caught in the bottom three. she had to save herself from elimination, and she did! she rocked the hell out of this radiohead song, sending shivers through my spine!!! supernova obviously saw a different side of patrice. and it's the first time that i actually noticed her. you gotta watch it to see how passionate she was doing this song.

the song is said to be a reaction to the popularity of "Creep". Thom Yorke introduced it this way: "This is a song about turning out the same old shit to make money." it's about selling out and forgetting about creating art. Creep was hugely popular that people who watch their shows kept on requesting it, and forgetting that this band's albums are on top of most "best album of all-time" lists. as a reaction they made this song and refuse to play Creep on their live sets.
