Meralco's CEO Manolo Lopez gave Tony Meloto of Gawad Kalinga a surprise party for his Ramon Magsaysay award. During cocktails, Mr. Lopez also announced that the first ever Gawad Haydee Yorac award will be bestowed on him on Oct. 4. Incidentally, Oct. 4 is also the anniversary of Gawad Kalinga. What a fitting tribute to the man, who's face and life represents the revolutionizing heroism sweeping the country today.
