last frontier
"You must go to Palawan!"
These were the simple words that this guy from PAG-ASA told me upon learning that I was a member of Haribon. These words stucked in my mind. That was ten years ago. Back then, I didn't know much about Palawan. I just knew that it's a nice place...the so-called Last Frontier of the Philippines. I also remember having a neighbor who was a fish dealer. They had really big fishes coming from Palawan. Through the years, a lot of attention was given to the place. There were good and bad news here and there-discovery of natural gas, illegal fishing, illegal logging, paradise-like islands, abu sayyaf's dos palmas abduction, rico yan's death, etc. The tri-media was all over the place especially promoting it as an alternative to a commercialized boracay.
