falling in love with ultimate

it's hard to compete when you have 30 year old legs and you run against fresh college grads. haha! well i'm getting old but i feel my legs are fresher these days. you see there's a new sport that my co-employees are taking on. it's called ultimate, better known as frisbee.

You (Us)

"Who are these people? Seriously, who actually sits down after a long day at work and says, I'm not going to watch Lost tonight. I'm going to turn on my compuer and make a movie starrring my pet iguana? I'm going to mash up 50 Cent's vocals with Queen's instrumentals? I'm going to blog about my state of mind or state of the nation or the steak-frites at the new bistro down the street? who has that time and that energy and that passion?"

-Time (dec 25, 2006/jan 1, 2007)

I've always been interested with the internet, with what's new, with what's in. I read pop culture news, sometimes going with the bandwagon that comes along with it but most of the time just hanging around the sidelines watching people do their thing, enjoy themselves and be entertained.

Being entertained by what other people are doing and actually trying them out yourself are totally different experiences. I started an on-line journal, posted a few videos on YouTube and for a number of years now maintained picture sites. This time, actually contributing to web content was my focus. And while traffic to my sites aren't really that big, I still was able to receive feedback from ordinary surfers who might have gone to the same place I did, liked my pictures or simply just wanted to drop a note. These sort of interactions makes missing the highlights of SportsCenter and just spending your free hours at night to go on-line worth it. Anyway, whatever you missed on cable can be easily accessed on YouTube.

Here's to more of Web 2.0 next year! Cheers!
