first in 88 years

I don't know if I should feel bombed out by the fact that my team, the New York Yankees, with the highest payroll on the MLB has not won the World Series in 5 years. I mean the last two winners-Boston and now Chicago didn't win it since before the world wars. I should be happy for them. So congratulations to my friends in Chicago (see you in march neryza and janet) and Boston (we both lost this year klur).

Now, I was really hoping that Chicago would win it. That city hasn't won anything since that Michael won them 6 world championships. But I was also half wishing that Roger Clemens would at least give a good showing and add to his already legendary career. As it turned out, Roger was hit hard by the White Sox (his pitches i mean) and reinjured his hamstring on the 2nd inning of game 1. That seemed to have started the downfall for the Astros. They were swept literally. They failed to convert on a lot of scoring opportunities and gave up big home runs, including a grand slam. They were "chokers". Better luck next time Houston. Get your nerves checked this winter and wish that Roger has one more year for you. To Chicago, see you next summer. I hope! :)

another one for the kids

Construction work is a great workout. Beats jogging on the beach. Try it. Hehe. This school we're building is for the kids in Marilao, Bulacan. Funding is being provided by Meralco(finally! huh!).

wedding of the year

I must say it was the most unique, creative, weird, funky and grand wedding that I've been to in my life. Throughout the preparation, I got bits and pieces of info from Mike and Claire on their suppliers and program for the day. This couple are two of the most picky people I know so I was really expecting something different. But to my surprise, it was more than what I imagined all these months. It was amazing.

The biggest surprise of the evening was the band. Not even Claire knew about it. It was a total shock for probably 99% of the guest. I being with the 1% who knew that Orange and Lemons will be performing a one hour set. And finally, I can talk about it. They were great performing their original songs and some new wave classics. It was tight. For most of us who stayed, it was well worth the wait. We finished around 12 and I got home to catch some sleep for another racket the next day-a kiddie party!

oranges, lemons, spies and angels

"Cause this angel has flown away from me
leaving me in drunken misery
I should have clipped her wings and made her mine for all eternity
Cause this angel has flown away from me
I thought I had the strength to set her free
I did what I did because I love her so
Will she ever find her way back home to me?
Oh-oh..."

i can't tell you guys why i'm posting an orange and lemons song today. it's top secret. maybe on sunday i can. there's a surprise somewhere.

speaking of top secret, have you guys heard about the pinoy spies in the US? it's all over the news-CNN, ABC, YAHOO, etc. this x-marine and FBI agent, who had top secret clearance, got files from the white house and FBI and thru Michael Ray Aquino (the famous Lacson guy), fed opposition leaders with "i don't know what kind of" info about the philippines. now that's big! haven't heard of anyone crushing the white house. it's galeng. but they're just not galeng enough. they used personal email to send them. how to stupid can you get? dudes, use a dummy account! use an internet cafe or something to delay the investigation! but not your personal home account.

the yankess lost today to the angels, 3-5. and so did the red sox to the white sox.

october rush

It's october! The time of the year when the temperature starts to chill. Christmas is just a couple of months away. The typhoons become stronger. And of course, baseball is the hottest sport across America.

For a New York Yankees, they say there's always two seasons-the regular and the playoffs. The Yankees almost didn't get to it this year but thankfully so, they did.

Watch out Red Sox. We're out to avenge that shameful collapse last year.
Today's Scoreboard:
New York 4 - Anaheim 2
Chicago WS 14 - Boston 2
