reality catching up on a dream

I woke up early sunday morning, checked my email, checked on the nba schedule then typed in "inquirer.net". The browser window refreshed its content and in a matter of seconds the big bold words "Gawad Kalinga Goes Worldwide" were displayed on screen. I clicked on the front page image link and there it was-Gawad Kalinga is the headline of the Philippines' most read daily. The timing was perfect. It was the anniversary of the original people power, the bloodless revolution that introduced us to the world. And just like People Power, Gawad Kalinga may one day inspire other nations to follow the unbeaten track of attacking head on injustice and poverty.

MANILA, Philippines -- Hope and a better life are the latest Filipino exports. Poor as it is, the Philippines would not be left behind in the sharing department.

Gawad Kalinga (GK), the highly successful housing and development project for the poor, is going global to improve the lives of the countless poor in other countries. This major step means familiar GK key people will have to be moved and new faces will emerge. That is all there is to it.

dead cat bounce and another way to get rich

this image and post represents my entry into the world of high risk investments. i've always dreamt of being a player in stock trading. i was one of those who watched and salivated while young entrepreneurs were getting rich during the internet revolution. they were mere mortals with thick glasses, creepy fashion sense and i don't-know-what hairdos but they invested in stocks and/or created websites-some with killer applications, some with bubble heads that eventually burst. but still, the ferraris, the mansions and the hot chicks (hehe) that goes with being a millionaire stuck in my head. sounds like i'm this materialistic/worldly dude haha! well maybe i have that evil side of me but Jesus won't mind if i get those cars and real estate, right? ok the hot chicks should be Xed out. :D

the past couple of weeks there was a sudden upswing of interest for me because of the "better than good" news in the economy. i started to read the business page and began talking to people who shared the same interest. one thing led to another and i was already trying to decipher what resistance and support levels meant. a new found friend of mine who was a stock analyst and now an active trader was sending me technical reports that had such terms like buy on rally, breakout, breakdown, consolidation. those are the simpler ones, wait till you get to the ascending triangle, dead cat bounce, tweezers bottoms and tops. haha! i didn't expect this to be so mind-boggling but after reaping some hard cash, i proclaimed that i'm now a believer. i'm still in that big learning curve studying my next little steps so wish me luck :)
