there's hope after all

election is over, canvassing is on-going, cheating took/is taking place, killings and harrassments were not unusual sights. pinoys are used to such circus, however bloody and appalling they are. we always get the feeling that all is lost for this country of ours. that is why millions of people took it upon themselves to simply leave the country and look for better opportunities outside. who can blame them anyway?! never mind the ridiculous taxes and equally ridiculous infrastructure and red tape, never mind that. just watch at how sessions in congress are and you would wish you were not born a filipino. the quality (or the lack of it) of legislators and local officials is so bad that no one respects their position anymore. we all know that they're not there to serve us but to serve themselves.

i've got news though. there's hope. yes there is. look at how the election results are shaping up.

1. my boxing idol lost - good for him. good for boxing in general. you can have a heart for the people but are your brains ready for it? idol, you were used and now you know it. they even took your money. wake-up and drop a 1-2-3 combi on these lowlife people.

2. the stars lost - star power suffered a brownout. i can't imagine these guys becoming senators without even any experience of lawmaking or in any elected position in that matter. and my God, where you able to watch those interviews on tv? i don't know why those guys think they can be good legislators.

3. a good machinery doesn't guarantee a win - not if you're facing a horde of supporters who volunteered their three Ts (time, treasure, talent) for a priest who was an alternative to dirty politics.

there's hope, all is not lost. there's a long way to go before we can clean-up everything. maybe not in our lifetime but we can't stop on hoping and dreaming. we can't give-up, we just have to continue moving forward.
