the pre-season is OVER, the regular season is OVER!!!

american airlines center,dallas

at&t center, san antonio

this is the playoffs! time for the intense battles and the hard fouls. this is where you separate the big boys from the weak pretenders. for two months, marches will either die in defeat or live in glory. the quest for the most priced trophy in basketball begins.

the first time i was able to watch an nba game, it was a no bearing match. it was at the staples center. denver nuggets vs the los angeles clippers. the playoffs were about to begin and if i remember it right, not one of them was in it. the past weekend was different. i got to see two games, in two cities, in two days. the first one was a blowout win of san antonio over sacramento at the at&t center in san antonio. last night i was in dallas, where i watched MY team defeat the memphis grizzlies. :)

windy chicago

of all the cities i've been to in the U.S., this one tops the list, despite the freezing weather and the killer wind chill.

scar tissue

having predicted the long waits i had to endure on this travel trip, i looked for an interesting book for a handcarry. i was keen on getting the new Bono book, but since the last copy they had at powerbooks wasn't a sealed one (ang arte ko! hehe), i decided to get this autobiography by anthony kiedis. anthony kiedis is the frontman of the punk funk band red hot chili peppers.

it's a crazy book! the stories are very funny and downright shocking at times. a drug crazed junkie living the fast rolling life of los angeles. here's a guy who grew up in an environment that's not really suited for a child-his parents separated with a dad who's in the drug trade. the drug world introduced him to the many powerful figures in his life, eventually linking him up with future peppers hillel and mike (flea). a must read for fans itching to scratch the scarred tissues of the band. check it out! ;)

night time san francisco

we finally arrived at the san francisco airport. philippine airlines stops here and you have to transfer flights to get to your other destinations. after the usual immigration and customs check (for first timers, don't get nervous. most of the airport people are pinoys anyway :D), we met up with my sister and bro-in-law at the american airlines lobby. they were already there for a week for one of my bro-in-law's conventions. too bad we weren't able to join them earlier and i had to settle for a night time tour of san fo. the last time i was here was four years ago. since it was just a stop over, again i wasn't able to see the place. well, maybe next time i can go around and probably eat at jollibee or max's? hahaha!
